Scott Oki   
Founder and Chairman

Scott Oki is the Founder and Chairman of Oki Golf and Oki Developments, Inc. and is a professed entrepreneur, venture capitalist, philanthropist and community activist.  His personal mission statement is “to marry my passion for things entrepreneurial with things philanthropic in a way that encourages others to do the same.”

Prior to founding Oki Developments, Inc., Mr. Oki retired after 10 years with Microsoft Corporation where he served as Sr. Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Service.

Mr. Oki serves on dozens of advisory boards and boards of directors for both for-profit and not-for-profit companies.  He has founded or co-founded over a dozen non-profit organizations.  In addition to his philanthropic activities through the Oki Foundation, he has taken leadership roles in many other organizations.  He is the Co-Founder of Sounders For Kids, Seattle Parks Foundation, America’s Foundation for Chess, First Tee of Greater Seattle, Social Venture Partners and Seattle Police Foundation. He has served as Co-Chair of the United Way of King County Campaign Board and Co-Chair of the Million Dollar Roundtable, Founder and Chairman of the Japanese American Chamber of Commerce, Founder of the Chief Seattle Council Boy Scout Foundation, Co-Founder and Chairman of Densho.  He is a past-President of the Board of Regents for the University of Washington and the immediate past Chair of the Children’s Hospital Foundation.  Mr. Oki also serves on the national boards for United Way of America, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Japanese American National Museum, and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation.

Nancy Cho 
President and CEO

Nancy Cho is the President and CEO of Oki Golf and Oki Developments, Inc.  Nancy started with Oki Golf in 1993 as the Chief Financial Officer and was promoted to President in 1995.  She added the title of Chief Executive Officer in 2006.  Prior to joining Oki Developments, Inc., Nancy worked for seven years at a Big Six public accounting firm as a Certified Public Accountant while holding the title of Business Assurance Manager, and also has over 12 years experience in the food service industry.  She has served on several local boards, including the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce, Childhaven, and Japan American Society.  She is currently on the board of the YMCA of Greater Seattle and the Japanese American Chamber of Commerce.

Mark Chriest
Chief Financial Officer

Mark joined Oki Golf in 1998 as the Chief Financial Officer.  Prior to Oki Golf, Mark was Controller of a publicly held computer products retailer and also was employed for 5 years as a Certified Public Accountant with a Big Six public accounting firm.  He possesses the financial expertise to creatively structure our business dealings to maximize our equity structure.  Mark has a passion for the business of golf, utilizing financial analysis and information systems to drive operating efficiencies, revenue, growth and cost savings.  He possesses very strong background in financial analysis, complex financial transactions, information systems and risk management.

David Hein
Vice President of Sales and Business Development, Oki Golf

David was hired as the project manager for the development of The Golf Club at Newcastle in 1996 and was Regional Operations Manager from 2001 to 2004.  For the past eight years, David has been the General Manager of The Golf Club at Newcastle as well as being instrumental in acquisitions and business development.  David has over 25 years experience in golf management, employed as Regional Golf Course Superintendent with American Golf Corporation from 1982 to 1990 where his responsibilities included working intimately with several municipalities in a management contract scenario.  Prior to coming to Oki Developments, he was Construction Manager for the Lanai Company, overseeing construction of two world-class golf resorts.  David attended Iowa State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture.

Karla Sperber
Director of Human Resources

Karla Sperber heads up Oki Golf's human resources department and is responsible for recruiting, training, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration as well as working in conjunction with Oki's nine golf properties to enhance the company's reputation as an employer of choice.  Before joining Oki Golf, Karla acquired over 14 years of human resources experience in both hospitality and manufacturing working as a Human Resources Manager for PACCAR, Inc. and Trendwest Resorts, Inc.  Karla attended Western Washington University and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. 

Simon Wheeler
Director of Operations

Simon Wheeler joined Oki Golf as Director of Operations in 2008, bringing with him over 20 years of hospitality experience with the past 7 years spent with the Compass Group based in both Chicago, IL and London.  As a Regional Director of Sales and Operations, he oversaw food service for large scale properties and operations such as US Cellular Field (home of the Chicago White Sox) and visitor attractions such as the London Zoo and The British Library.  Simon has also held senior leadership positions with three of the country’s leading off-premise social, event and sporting caterers, with responsibilities including State Occasions at the City of London’s Guildhall, Royal Ascot, Wimbledon, Twickenham, The City of London’s Livery Halls and The Royal Warrants. 

Simon is a graduate from C.C.A.T. in Cambridge and Westminster College in London with diplomas in Hotel, Catering and Institutional Management.

David Vladyka
Director of Marketing

David Vladyka holds the position of Director of Marketing for Oki Golf, overseeing marketing activities for the company. His responsibilities include developing new marketing programs and loyalty initiatives, developing corporate partnerships and strategic alliances, and evaluating and enhancing current marketing programs.  With an extensive background in business development and marketing, David brings with him over 15 years of experience assisting consumer products companies with strategic marketing initiatives including growth strategy development, market entry assessment, new product planning and customer relationship management. 

David received a BS in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business and an MBA from New York University.

Rich Strauss
Director of Sales

Rich Strauss serves as Director of Sales for Oki Golf.  Rich’s responsibilities include tournament sales and business development programs for Oki Golf’s catering and event sales teams.  Rich has an impressive business development background having spent more than 17 years with Comcast Cable’s advertising sales division.  During that time, Rich led the South Puget Sound sales division and achieved record revenue growth.  Rich’s leadership and achievements earned the Comcast Spotlight President’s Club Award in 2005.

Rich attended the University of Washington and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.

Glenn Hirai
Special Projects Manager

An integral part of the Oki Golf team, Glenn Hirai is responsible for providing oversight and management of development projects, creating and maintaining building and property maintenance plans, and providing building and property management functions at the Oki Home Office, seven championship golf courses, and other real estate holdings.  Prior to joining Oki Golf, he was a project manager / team lead for the Bellevue, WA based architecture firm, MulvannyG2 Architecture, where he managed commercial projects nationally and internationally.  His experience includes master planning, design, construction management, feasibility and development analysis and program management.  Glenn holds a Bachelors of Architecture degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Pete Hansen
Information Systems Manager

Pete came to Oki Golf as the IS Manager in October of 2001.  Pete has garnered over 21 years of experience in IT, including programming, operations, networking – design and implementation, project management and classroom delivery.  Prior to Oki Golf, Pete was the Network Integration Architect for  Pete has been a Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) since 1997 and a CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer+ since 1998.

Warren Sakai
Director of Purchasing

Warren is responsible for all hard good and equipment purchasing at Oki Golf.  In his ten years with Oki Golf, Warren has been instrumental in negotiating national account purchasing programs for Oki Golf, and is charged with ensuring that Oki Golf takes advantage of all vendor rebate programs.  Warren has 42 years of purchasing experience including 30 years at the Westin, establishing national accounts for equipment at all Westin Properties.

Vicki A'Court
Corporate Controller

Vicki A'Court has been promoted to Corporate Controller effective November 2006.  Vicki's responsibilities include overseeing the Accounting Department, Financial Reporting, Operational Controls, and Financial Analysis for all of Oki Developments, Inc.  Prior to becoming Corporate Controller, Vicki was the Accounting Manager for Oki Developments, Inc. since 2001.  Vicki holds a Bachelor of Business Studies in Accounting from Massey University in New Zealand and is a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand.
